The final journey into the "Land Of The Lost." Unlike the second batch of episodes, Season 3 kicked off with the risky move of eliminating key characters. Not ...only did Rick Marshall (Spencer Milligan) vanish forever from the "Land Of The Lost," but both Sa and Ta were now noticeably absent as well. Will, Holly and Cha-Ka suddenly all find themselves very much alone...for half an episode, anyway. Enter Ron Harper as Uncle Jack, who by fortuitous conscience just happened to be sucked into the Land of the Lost the very same day his brother was sucked out. No stranger to mixed-up worlds-Harper played Alan Virdon in the 1974 television series "Planet Of The Apes." The tremendous earthquake that rattled the season opener was a brilliant plot device. Not only did it cleverly explain away the disappearance of some characters, it provided a logical basis for the addition of others. New doorways and unexplored regions had been ripped open. A plethora of previously unseen monsters now ram the valley. Big Alice and Grumpy suddenly share a common enemy-Torchy, a fire-spouting Dimetrodon whose combustible breath stems from his stead diet of coal. These new menaces are in now way limited to prehistoric times as Medusa, the Abominable Snowman, and Malak, a Cro-Magnon, gleefully cause all kinds of havoc. A big "return to home finale" simply was not to be. But perhaps this is just as well, for in the hearts and minds of many fans world over, Cha-Ka, Will and Holly remain stranded in what has now forever truly become their new home - the "Land Of The Lost.".

Audio Commentary, Interviews.Detailed info »« Brief info
