"Star Trek" fans voted online for their favorite "Q" episodes from the "Star Trek" television series, which resulted in "Star Trek: Fan Collective - Q." Prepar...e yourself for thrilling adventure and laugh-out-loud fun with one of the most unique and best-loved characters in "Star Trek" history. He is known simply as "Q" (John de Lancie). A member of the mysterious god-like beings from a parallel existence called the Q Continuum, he claims to be ageless and to possess an I.Q. of 2,005. An impish prankster who is a master of disguise, he usually takes the form of a human male, a race for which he has more than once stated his disdain. Supposedly devoid of emotion, "Q" is nonetheless prone to jealous outbursts, petty tantrums and the occasional romantic inclination. When he first encountered the Federation, "Q" attempted to limit humanity's ongoing advancement in the galaxy by putting Captain Jean-Luc Picard and his crew on trial for being a "grievously savage race." Later, as if for his own entertainment, "Q" tried to test the resolve of the crew of the "Enterprise" by putting them in situations both dangerous and whimsical. Only after great trial and error did this meddlesome prankster develop a great fondness for Picard, which he tried again and again to bury during their testy moral quarrels.
